The heating (tempering) process of steel is an industrial production technique where the metal is intensively heated for a period of time to increase the toughness of the metal.
A side effect of this production process are vivid colors that appear during the heating process. Depending on the intensity of the heating process, the steel colors from straw yellow to deep marine-blue.
The tempering series is a result of a extensive material research and shows how this industrial production process can be controlled to a level that it produces uniform end-products - 2018 .
